Milewater Drive is a new build housing development within the New Mossley Estate. The development (on the former site of the New Mossley Bonfire) comprises 49 homes including houses, apartments and 7 accessible bungalows – critically prioritising delivery of bespoke wheelchair accommodation, of which there is a significant shortage in the region.
Works included inter-alia:
•Site Clearance/ decontamination of soils & introduction of a capping layer
•Relocation of local bus stop/ Services connections, diversions & installations –both a live NIE cable & existing sewage infrastructure sat within the footprint of the site
•Construction of homes with a variety of high-quality, sustainable & aesthetically excellent finishes – a leading light, Milewater was the first social housing scheme in Northern Ireland to use both concrete brick and aluminium cladding.
•Creation of communal green areas and a fruit tree ‘mini forest’ – with legacy planting by local children – a wonderful outdoor space designed for use by new residents & wider community.
