Graham Street is a state-of-the-art 15-unit apartment complex, that was delivered (during Covid) into an area with significant housing need for small families/singles. Requirements of these end-users were a central consideration at all stages. The objective – to provide beautiful, functional, efficient, homes in a cohesive and enjoyable environment. Integral to this was

  • optimisation of noise absorption in communal spaces via perforated ceilings
  • floor to ceiling windows (reinforced double-glazed) to maximise light/space, whilst minimising noise
    vibrant aesthetic
  • external coloured-doors & combined brickwork and larch/brick cladding –
  • mirrored internally achieving outdoor/indoor continuity/fluidity
  • a spacious courtyard

Delivered to Lifetime Homes & Housing Association Guide, focused on achieving low running-costs, reduced carbon footprint & integrated sustainable technologies (like self-closing doors and sensor lighting in communal areas; high quality insulation & glazing, low energy fittings in apartments).

Nadine McMahon, Development Manager for Connswater said: “Connswater view partnership working as key to delivery of high-quality schemes which offer tenants a home for life. Emphasis is placed on quality…innovation and sustainability in design and construction processes. Connolly & Fee has exceeded all expectations. From selection of sustainable and contemporary materials…to rigorous on-site quality management procedure and attention to detail, aspirations of delivering high-end contemporary living have been surpassed. Connolly & Fee must also be commended for their approach…in implementing covid procedures to ensure safety… To deliver a scheme of this quality during a pandemic, with no impact on programme, is quite remarkable.”
