“The only thing that you absolutely have to know, is the location of the library”

Restoration of the existing Grade B1 Listed library building, together with construction of a new 3-storey extension. The existing building, constructed to a classic late 1960s design and described as ‘one of the most interesting libraries in Northern Ireland’ was meticulously restored to enhance functionality without compromising authenticity. The aesthetically

complimentary extension was built to facilitate extended services and optimise the library experience.

The project saw the delivery of some cutting-edge technologies & systems including the first installation of Sto-Rainscreen Cladding in Ireland. The works have delivered a full range of modern, fully accessible facilities including multi-use meeting room and group space, exhibition space, improved study area and dedicated quiet heritage collection room with microfilm readers and printers. The transformation of the library has provided an attractive, fit-for-purpose community space to meet the needs of modern library users.
