This project comprised the extension, alteration and restoration of the 3-storey, Grade B listed Thompson House, on Belfast’s busy Antrim Road.
Works were delivered to provide staff and residential accommodation – with bedroom suites, communal kitchens, recreation and WC units, reception area, offices & meeting rooms. We worked with NIEA to ensure repairs to the building façade did not affect the integrity or listing.
We worked with the design team to ensure their aspirations and visions were realised.
As well the listed building challenges – these works were delivered on an extremely tight site, fronting onto a busy arterial route, in a populated residential and commercial setting with neighbouring schools, churches and businesses.
Our wealth of experience, commitment to H&S, effective Community Liaison and strategic planning and storage facilitated easy resolution of the difficulties presented.
The outturn was a highly successful facility, which can accommodate up to 20 residents at any given time.
