Whitewell Road comprised the demolition of existing structures and the construction of 10 new build apartments, with mechanical and electrical services installations and ancillary site works, drainage and road works on a confined brownfield site with a neighbouring school, residential and commercial buildings. The site fronted onto a main arterial route.
All dwelling units were of traditional masonry construction with external wall finishes comprising rendered block cavity walls. Constructed to meet current Building Regs, DSD Social Housing Design Guide, Lifetime Homes, Considerate Constructors and Secure by Design .
The siteworks included making good existing footpaths & roads, together with in-curtilage works including retaining walls, drainage, access road and parking areas, paths, fencing and boundary treatments of different types.
Landscaping included communal gardens, and other soft landscaping. The existing trees & landscaping located along the boundaries were protected throughout the works & retained on site.
