Brianswell Grove comprised the construction of 34 new build dwellings, together with demolitions and associated site development works on a confined site with surrounding roads infrastructure facilitating local residents and schools’ traffic.
Detailed works included:
- Traditional construction of variable house types to Lifetime Homes Standards, CFSH Level 3 and Secure by Design.
- strip foundations, access road, parking, soft landscaping, walling and fencing.
- boundary treatments to existing developments and some trench fill.
- culverting and diversion of water course in a residential area.
Within the boundary of the site we established designated walkways & site traffic paths so the flow of personnel and plant was fluid/ unimpeded at all times.
Staff parking was off-site – we operated a park and ride system from rented parking facilities nearby. We programmed the work so that staff works were efficient and significant trade overlap avoided.
Pre-start we established a project Traffic Management Plan in conjunction with DRD Roads Service and Emergency Services and local residents – this facilitated just in-time deliveries, incorporated a delivery schedule to mitigate vehicular congestion.
Due to deep foundations all delivery vehicles were kept at safe HSE compliant distances from works. The project was registered to Considerate Constructors – achieving Beyond Compliance across all assessment areas.
